Title:
Virtual
Reality for E-Learning Applications
Abstract: E-learning
is one of the emerging needs of the information
age. Access to education is going to become crucial for the success of
our
information society, and therefore a lot of potential is seen in
distance
learning and virtual environments. Virtual reality interface to
E-learning
systems have recently appeared on the Internet. Using virtual reality
in such
applications appear to be promising to E-learning tasks more nature and
interactive. Also using this technology, it is possible to get a sense
of three
dimensional environment. Virtual reality modeling language (VRML) is
the most
common tool for (3-D) viewing and browsing of E-learning systems. In
this paper the benefits of using VRML for E-learning
applications are demonstrated. This will be shown via building a web
enabled
virtual chemistry laboratory. This system gives the student the ability
to
perform all experiments according to certain crucial. VRML is used in
this
system to give the full visualization and interactivity of all
experiments
steps.
