on Information Management in Modern Healthcare Organisations

Session
Description
Healthcare is
one of the largest expenditure items in most countries. Pressures
include ageing, increasing demands, new and often expensive medical
technologies and medications, consumer and political pressures. There
are concerns about safety and quality, and delivering more with
constrained finances. Healthcare information is fragmented reflecting
the needs of individual providers rather than for life-time coordinated
and proactive care. There are expectations of the potential of ICT to
improve healthcare, move to a wellness model, provide more care in home
and community settings, better enable health systems to identify
priorities and select evidence-based interventions. This session will
report on innovation in ICT in healthcare and realisation of benefits.
Papers will be evaluated for
originality, significance, clarity, and contribution. It is IBIMA
policy to send complete papers to two reviewers for full blind peer
review and
to send a summary of review back to the author(s) . Short papers/abstracts
will be reviewed by reviewer and/or the editor. All review comments and
suggestions should be addressed in the final submission. Submitted Papers must not have
been previously published or currently submitted
for publication elsewhere.
Conference proceedings will be
published as an e-book on a CD
(ISBN:0-9753393-8-9)
