Taxonomy
of Business Models for Open Access to Scholarly Information
Abstract: Open access to the
scholarly information, is a new way in scientific communications, which
has based on eliminating every kind of barrier to access scholarly
information. There are many studies made in different disciplines about
this new method, which has grown recently in current century. Business
models, as a strong structure in recognizing business evolutions and
analyzing its profitability and stability, is one of the most important
fields in open access studies. With a full literature review, this
paper presents taxonomy of different business models developed for open
access to the scholarly information, which could help in analytically
choosing or developing suitable model(s) for different environments and
circumstances.
