Session
Description
Learning
Management Systems (LMS) are being
used widely all over Higher Education Institutions (HEI). However,
there is a lack of
information about how LMS's are being used, whether there is a country
adoption
standard, in which countries the LMSs have the highest use and which
are the
most adopted LMSs. Besides these statistics it would be interesting to
understand how each HEI developed his LMS implementation, whether they
choose
an open source or a proprietary system, whether
it was a purchased or home developed system and how they measure the
usage of their LMS. Each case is certainly unique but with much in
common with
the other cases.
The special
session aims to Increase understanding of LMS adoption and usage.
Topics that
include but not limited to:
- What
are the most used LMS
- LMS
adoption factors
- Scientific
areas with the highest utilizations rates of LMS
- Comparison
of different LMS platforms;
- Best
practices in LMS policies and procedures;
- Strategies
for faculty LMS orientation and ongoing education;
- Internal
review practices of LMS usage;
- The
student view vs. the professor view of LMS
- LMSs
case studies.
