Title: e-Government Services in Local Governments – Towards a Knowledge Centre

Abstract:
Electronic Government, or e-Government and its many synonyms, has been on the agenda for several years. Since the late 1990s, governments at all level have launched e-Government projects in order to provide electronic information and services to citizens and businesses. The area of e-Government is still in its infancy and until recently research has mainly been focused on a national level and there has been far less research on local governments, where it is a higher degree of impact on the citizens and their daily lives. Consequently, we do not have adequate knowledge about e-Government initiatives and practices on the local level. Hence, there is, among other things, a risk for dissemination of local experiences and knowledge.
