Title: Linking Technology Acceptance Model(TAM)
And Cultural Context In The Organisation
Abstract: Being
regarded as the most influential model used to explain the acceptance of
IT/IS.Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has largely ignored to consider the
cultural factor. This is despite culture is increasingly cited as being one
of the most important issues that affect the implementation and acceptance
of Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) projects.
Cultural issues have become particularly significant in developing countries
where many systems have difficulty or even fail due to cultural mismatch.
This paper begins by briefly discussing TAM and its existing extended
versions. The limitations found in those works are also described. Then,
this paper develops a model that links the culture concept with theories
of technology acceptance.
