Title: Information Systems Requirements: Case
of the University of Bahrain on-Line Registration System
Abstract: Requirements determination is a critical
phase of information system development. This phase is the essence of successful
designing and development. A typical information system will have hundreds
or even thousand of requirements. Identifying and specifying those requirements
take time and effort, but it can yield significant benefits for the entire
systems development process. The paper discusses two models of the requirements
determination process, and then the various techniques and tools to improve
the determination of information system requirements. It also discusses the
difficulties and problems that occur within each stage of requirements determination
process model. The University of Bahrain Online Registration System is used
as a case study in this paper. The paper finally concludes with some recommendation
and guidelines to improve the current system.
