Title: Assessing Information Quality in Group Decision Support Systems

Abstract: Information quality (IQ) issues are widespread in many important business initiatives, such as decision making, supply chain management and e-commerce. Group Decision Support System (GDSS) is to facilitate solving decision problems by a group of decision makers. One major objective of GDSS is to enhance the quality of decision making through enhancing information value. IQ improvement, as a key factor in GDSS, plays a crucial role in enhancing information value. However, research and partitions investigating “How to improve IQ on GDSS” are limited. In this paper, we introduce Total Data Quality Management (TDQM) cycle into GDSS, and then propose an assessment framework to measure IQ in GDSS. In order to validate this framework, we carry out an experiment to assess the quality of information used in our group decision making context. Finally, we conclude implications for analysing and improving IQ in GDSS and outline the further research.
