Title:
A Study on Technology for Checking the Duplication of Internet-based
Alternatives to the Korean Social Security Number
Abstract: According to a survey on Internet service providers
introducing internet based alternatives to the Korean social security (KSS)
number, the biggest obstacle to introducing alternatives to the KSS is the
difficulty of checking duplication followed by the cost needed for system
modification. As a number of alternatives to the KSS number exist, Internet
service providers cannot check for duplication with existing social security
number subscribers or duplication between users of alternative methods. This
study proposes an efficient technology through which internet service providers
can check duplication between users of the KSS numbers and users of alternative
methods. It is anticipated that the study will provide a method to standardize
the technology for checking duplication of alternatives to the KSS number
