Title:
A Framework for the Analysis of Organizational Change in the Global
Software Development
Abstract: In recent years software development has become increasingly
global distributed which tend to get the shape of a new paradigm. Global
software development (GSD) offers several advantages, but has also important
challenges and difficulties. In order to be successful, companies need to
make fundamental changes on their approach of software development in order
to support the new distributed development paradigm. In this context, this
paper attempts to develop a model of the organizational change in companies
adopting GSD. The main idea to start our approach is that the core dimensions
of change analysis should focus on people, processes, technology and the
interactions between them. The result is a framework that will hopefully
provide organizations with a way they can manage the process of change, and
also researchers with a research agenda for GSD field. Based on this framework,
we will summarize literature research in each of the areas identified, and
also highlight several open research issues
