Title: A Critical Analysis of the Use of
Public Internet Facilities for Participation in e-democracy and
e-governance: A South
African case study
Abstract: The
paper contains a report on survey research that was conducted in two
South African provinces, Gauteng and the Western Cape, in order to
ascertain whether members of the public make who do not have Internet
access make use of public Internet facilities to participate in
e-democracy and e-governance. The researcher also addressed
issues regarding language proficiency as well as proficiency to
navigate the Internet and use the facility.
