Infrastructure
In The Networked Economy
Abstract: Information
and Communication Technology (ICT) has been created to fasten and
easier
the human tasks. Nowadays, the ICT is becoming more widely used
by
academic institutions to support the academic activities particularly
in
teaching and research. This paper will discuss the perspective of
user's
on the ICT infrastructure in the networked economy. The users are
from
a public university in Malaysia known as. Islamic Science University of
Malaysia
(ISUM). Network in ISUM is very important because the applications
developed
for its operations are accessed through the network The major purpose
of
the survey is to gather data from the users’ perspective. The
evaluation
of current ICT infrastructure is in need so that it can benefit the
user
and organization as a whole. The user can take full advantage of the
available
facilities in order to provide the best performance and the
organization
can plan for future ICT uses for the development purposes. The result
indicates
that more ICT advancement needs to be done to ensure that more benefits
can
be reached.
