Abstract: Change
is
a dominant dimension of organizational life. In this paper we
touch
on the role of information systems in support of change management.
Within
the framework of ITIL, information technology follows best practices of
configuration
management and change management addressing the efficiency proposition.
We
argue that standardization information technology should aim at driving
the
business in new direction and support the innovation dimension aimed at
developing
more effective products and services.
