Abstract: The main subject of the research is about Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), how users perceive the services they provide and how do different ATM characteristics affect the usage pattern.
The specific research questions posed in this research are the following: a) how important and effective ATM characteristics are in terms of efficiency and service provision and b) what customers use  ATMs for, and how frequently they use them; The contribution to knowledge envisaged in this paper work will come from measuring the user's perception regarding ATMs, their locations, ease of use, safety, range of services, availability, reliability, and information accuracy. It is also expected to measure the user's awareness of the ATM importance and the variety of functions they provide. Finally, the users' preferences and priorities regarding the ATM different characteristics and their expectation from this electronic service will be statistically analyzed. A survey has been administered to focus on people in different cities in Egypt. The literature is reviewed and a conceptual framework is drawn from the research questions and the literature review to guide the research study. Methods used for data collection and analyses include both a questionnaire that was distributed over a sufficient number of ATM users to assess their usage and opinion of ATM services; and statistical analysis of the questionnaire using SPSS
