Title: Intelligent
Secure Management of Electric Power Organizations: Data Collection Using Mobile
Agents
Abstract: There are
many services offered and performed by municipalities. This includes Electrical
/ Energy Distributions with increasing number of clients in each year. Hence
there is bad need for a reliable, efficient and intelligent IT infrastructure
for automating the Energy Meter Reading and Management processes. This need
becomes more feasible especially in the continuous advancement of intelligent
networked embedded microcontroller systems into Energy Metering systems. Intelligent
and secure Automatic Meter Reading and Management can be of great importance
for such municipalities and power companies so as to minimize the number
of traditional visits required by the distribution company, hence decreasing
the number of employees used in performing this traditional time consuming
and high cost work. In this work we will start by surveying the current technologies
and techniques used in handling remote meter reading and management. Different
solutions will be proposed including existing ones and new ideas using Mobile
Agents will be suggested to optimize different factors for satisfying the
automatic reading tasks in a secure manner.
