Sports Events Electronically Via Online Integrated Sports Domain
Abstract: A study
was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of current sports events promotion
and registration methods, in order to understand the involvement of the people
in sports activities organized by various sports organizers. Methods used
in data collection were questionnaires and interview. The survey was conducted
within the area of Klang Valley, Malaysia. The results obtained indicated
that the ineffectiveness of current sports events promotional methods were
insufficient information, outdated information and non existence of one stop
sports event searching facilities. The survey also showed 60% of the respondents
chose bureaucracy as the reason for difficulty in the sports event participation
process. The structure of the proposed system will be discussed in this paper.
This paper also discusses and suggests how the proposed web application can
help in increasing the participation in sports events besides improving the
promotional methods used by the sports organizers
