Title: Simulation-Based
Comparative Study of Two MANET Routing Protocols DSR and TORA Using OPNET
Abstract:
The advent of ubiquitous
computing and the proliferation of portable computing devices have raised
the importance of MANET (Mobile Adhoc Network). The wireless links in an Ad-hoc
network are highly error prone and can go down frequently because of node
mobility, interference, channel fading, and the lack of infrastructure. Several
routing protocols have been proposed to make a typical MANET out of which
we have selected two routing protocols (DSR & TORA) to analyze their
relative performance. We use certain performance metrics for our analysis,
show comparative graphs in simulation result section which clearly make TORA
quite a suitable protocol for real time traffic because of its feature to
always output less delay. Furthermore, we use OPNET MANET Tool to simulate
our hypothetical MANET under both DSR and TORA
