Title:
Actual Development Trends in ERP Conceptions
in Enterprises in the Czech Republic
Abstract: The Center
for investigations into Information Systems has been working on the derivation
and elaboration of as precise as is possible delimitations of terminology
regarding the field of enterprise information systems. A great quantity of
explanations and definitions of the wide variety of terms involving the field
of enterprise informatics already exist, including such a common and widely-used
category of information systems as, Enterprise Resource Planning. Professionals
and experts in the field have great difficulty in agreeing on just how and
which product belong (or do not belong) to the category of ERP. In the course
of creating an overview of ERP or analyses of the market by different researchers
or institutions, confusion has been sown in the minds of the lay public thanks
to a lack of clarity and imprecisions in the terminologies used. At the same
time, comparisons of products which it would be more appropriate to designate
as “information systems” rather than “ERP systems” occur.
