Title:
The impact of End users and
Organisations in an information system project
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to explore
the different role of end users and organisations when implementing an information
system using a project-like approach in the context of several organisations
forming an unofficial alliance. The importance of users in implementation
projects is recognised but the type of user (end user or alliance of customers)
is not emphasised in information system literature. The concept of ‘user’
is divided in two: individuals as end users and organisations as customers.
This paper describes how the roles influenced on an implementation project
when there was no written agreement between the customers or the end users.
This case comes from the university world, also proving the relative autonomy
of the universities.
