The Center Region Development Strategy for 2014-2020 is part of the 2014-2020 Center Region Development Plan, the main document for regional planning and programming.
In the first part of the work we plan to describe the main aspects of the development plan in line with the 2020 Strategy, namely: the priorities that should be considered in accordance with the 2020 Strategy, the overall goal of the Development Strategy for Center Region, the description of the strategic areas of development and the specific measures that need to be taken for its implementation.
In the second part of the paper we take into consideration the analysis of the tourism potential of the Center Region and also we characterize the trends and structural changes of the macroeconomic indicators regarding the tourist activity (the structures of tourist accommodation, the existing accommodation capacity, the accommodation capacity in function, the number of nights, the number of tourists, etc.).
In the last part of the work we will focus on studying the correlations that can be established following the application of regression methods and the methods of parametric correlation between these indicators. This will be made by using special software for the databases analysis (Excel, EViews). The econometric analysis steps used in the paper are to: identify the form function for data collected at regional level, determining the level and intensity of correlation, the validation of the obtained model.
At the end of the paper we propose to make a SWOT analysis, completed with our own proposals, in order to characterize in a more complex way the situation of the tourism in the Center Region.
