Ranti Fauza Mayana and Tisni Santika
Traditional knowledge contains wide range of knowledge ranging from information, creation, innovations and practices of indigenous people. Gained, preserved and developed from empirical experiences, trials and errors through generations. Some of practices have been proven to promote, upgrade and escalate biodiversity and genetic resources at local level and maintaining sustainability of local environment and community empowerment. The recognition and valuation of traditional knowledge is rapidly growing along with compelling evidences of its benefit in producing daily life products and modern industries such as food, fabrics, housing equipment, cosmetics and medicines and make significant contribution to wealth creation and sustainable development.
