A university campus is similar to urban space regarding the features, shape or organization, but at a lower scale. The quality of the educational and research process within a campus is also influenced by the quality of spaces it takes place campus influences their academic results. Also, universities with happier students attract more new candidates. This article is the initial part of a more extensive study that will be conducted regarding the quality of life in the identify the appropriate variables which can influence an index that can be used to evaluate the quality of life within this campus. An assessment of the relevant literature in this area showed that the main domains that should be included in the index are: services offered in the campus, material welfare, safety and human dignity, leisure, health and active involvement in the university life. We conclude with the final formula for the index and further directions for this study, but once the study starts, if additional determinants are identified, they will be taken into consideration.
